About the Retreat

Join Alice & Nicole for a week of Ashtanga, Jivamukti & Rocket yoga. We'll be balancing our Yin & Yang energies with our dynamic morning practices with evening Yin, meditation and sound healing practices. This retreat will go deeper into inversions, meditation, pranayama, allowing students to delve in deeper and to embody the energetics of the practices.

More  About Nicole & Alice

Nicole started practising yoga in 2006 whilst practising for her dance competitions at 15. It wasn’t until after graduating from University that her practice grew from just a stretching, physical form into a more spiritual practice going deeper into the asana’s, meditation and mantra. In 2015 she travelled to India where she did her first 200hr teacher training at Sampoorna Yoga in Goa, India. Nicole has since trained in Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, Jivamukti, Yin Yoga, Sound Therapy, Thai Massage & Reformer Pilates bringing Yin & Yang elements to her classes. It’s all about balance; flowing and moving energy around the body (Yang) to moving into stillness, connecting to the stillness and the breath – being present (Yin). Nicole can help to soothe your mind, body and soul through healing yoga, meditation, breathing and sound healing practices she has learnt along her travels in India & Thailand. Bringing the East to the West, because we all need a bit more woo-sah.

Alice started practising yoga in 2009, initially for the physical benefits, but soon felt how yoga was beginning to transform other aspects of her life; bringing grounding, vitality and more ease. Since completing her first teacher training in Ashtanga Vinyasa in 2017 she has trained in Yin Yoga, Reformer Pilates, Pranayama and Meditation and has been teaching in London studios for the past 6 years and now teaches in Nottingham and Loughborough.
Alice teaches with an emphasis brought to the breath, allowing it to guide you through the whole sequence. She encourages students to move intuitively, cultivating care and awareness so they can develop an expressive, fluid and fun practice. Music and sound play a big part in her practise and teaching, she enjoys the feeling of strength and empowerment that Yang styles of Yoga offer and has also found deep appreciation and love for Meditation and Yin – feeling the cooling of the mind, the release that stillness can bring and the spaciousness found beyond the physical shapes.

Accommodation and Facilities

Our retreat centre is set in 2.5 acres of grounds in a valley filled with olive and almond groves.

Accommodation consists of six twin rooms  and one double room all with private ensuite bathroom. All rooms have been renovated to a high standard using locally sourced materials, to create a luxurious yet simple and understated feel. A large outdoor courtyard provides the main communal eating space, and several outdoor terraces offer a place to relax in the sun or the shade.

Situated at the heart of the complex, the salt water swimming pool acts like a colourful meeting point – with the blue water combining with the green olive trees and the red soil.

Food plays a central role in both our yoga practice and life. We believe food should be varied, unprocessed and nourishing to promote energy and wellbeing. The food we serve is predominantly plant based with some vegetarian options.  All produce we source and grow at YogApulia is local, seasonal and organic wherever possible.

Refreshments are also available throughout the day and include tea, coffee, water & fruit.

The international airport at Brindisi is approximately 40 minutes drive away and Bari is further to the north approximately 55 minutes drive. Hiring a car in Puglia is relatively inexpensive and provides a great way to explore the surrounding countryside, local historical towns and beaches. Both Bari and Brindisi airports have a large selection of hire car companies including Avis and Hertz. It is recommended to book a car before your arrival. Alternatively, we can arrange a taxi to collect you on your arrival.
